QUIK UPDATE

I have washed them, dried them, and now they are hanging up.

I blame them at least a little for my current, first-ever running injury. I mostly blame me for being a dumb ass for trying to go too far in them for the particular day of training.

I have the Los Angeles and Oakland marathons in March, and don't feel like doing anything to jeopardize my ability to do them. Think I will be backing away from my beloved VFFs for a while.

I am fairly certain the injury is nothing more than a painful sprain. I am waiting a few days to see if the "ouch factor" declines. If it doesn't I will have to go the doc.

Meanwhile, wine is helping.

Wanting to run!

I know how frustrating can be not run (I'm injured too) but you can improve your "upside" of your body (maybe with some core workouts?) and your mind: be patient. And, of course, drink a glass of wine to celebrate your workout and your patience! ;-)

I've got to do more research on this, but I really think the onset of injury could be a result of alternating VFF and running shoe, although it is a common practice to do so. Somehow I feel like it's all or nothing with VFF's, but I'm no subject matter expert. Just a thought!

What I do know is that wine is always a winner so drink up and rest up my friend. You'll be back in no time!

Too bad about the VFF - sounded promising at first. Even more interesting..you're doing LA and Oakland within a week of each other? Hope everthing heals up quickly. See you in LA
